Masters Games of Alabama Receives Award

The Masters Games of Alabama recently received an award from the Alabama Gerontological Society at their Awards Luncheon during their annual conference in April 2013 at the Embassy Suites in Montgomery, AL.  The Masters Games of Alabama was given the Organizational Award, which is given to an organization or civic group in recognition of having been remarkably supportive of senior citizens in Alabama.  The Masters Games of Alabama was nominated by Nancy Robertson for years of service to the senior community. 

The Alabama Gerontological Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization devoted to improving the well-being of older persons throughout Alabama. AGS brings together individuals, service providers, educators, policy makers, students, and other individuals and groups who work in the area of aging or who have an interest in and concern for Alabama's elderly. A major purpose is to ensure that older individuals have the opportunity to be full participating members of society with all the rights, privileges, benefits and responsibilities that pertain.
